FOR A LAKE GARDA HOLIDAY FULL OF NEW EXPERIENCES

There is no shortage of attractions, points of interest and panoramas near Hotel al Castello in Torri del Benaco - here are some ideas on things to do during your time on Lake Garda!

Beaches

There are different beaches in Torri del Benaco, each with their own unique character. If you want a free beach, you can head to Baia Stanca, a wide and quiet beach very close to the centre, where you can rent deck chairs and sunbeds. There's also the famous Baia delle Sirene beach, with private access, in the direction of Punta San Vigilio. You can easily get there with our bikes: which one will you choose?

Scaliger Castle

It’s undoubtedly the most iconic building in our ancient village. Built in the 14th century by Antonio della Scala, the castle welcomes visitors with its high towers and walls. Inside, it has housed the Ethnographic Museum since the 1980s, as well as one of the few surviving lemon greenhouses on Lake Garda, dating back to the 18th century, the only one open to the public on the Veronese shore of the lake. Not to be missed!

Il Baldo e San Zeno

Behind Torri del Benaco stands the imposing massif of Mount Baldo, an unmissable destination for those who love walking in the midst of nature, and enjoy backpacking or mountain biking excursions. There are many paths and tracks that can be explored, starting from those at lower altitudes to those heading to the peaks. The ideal starting point is San Zeno di Montagna, a town at an altitude of 680 meters above sea level which offers magnificent panoramic views of the lake below.

The historic center of Torri del Benaco

The Scaliger Castle is just one of the attractions in the historic centre. Let’s not forget the 14th-century Clock Tower, in the north-eastern part of the town, or the small port, one of the most beautiful in all of Lake Garda - it’s colourful and lively, surrounded by rich palazzos built in the past by Torri del Benaco merchants. The entire historic centre captivates visitors with its stately homes, often still showing the ancient coats of arms.

The Tibetan Bridge

Inaugurated in 2019, the Tibetan Bridge is located in a small hamlet near Torri del Benaco, known as Crero, and can be reached with a pleasant walk from the center of the village. The bridge is 30 meters long and suspended at a height of about 40 meters, allowing you to cross the wild gorge below safely - but with a good adrenaline kick. Thanks to solid protections and non-slip grids, it is also suitable for children.

Sail on the lake

What about going sailing on the waters of Lake Garda to discover the other jewels that lie on its shores? An excellent way to do so is taking advantage of the ferries that connect the various Garda villages, starting for example with the boat that regularly covers the route between Torri del Benaco and Maderno, connecting the Verona and Brescia shores. There are also organized boat trips, to reach Sirmione and other towns around the lake.

Opera at the Verona Arena

Aida, Rigoletto, Traviata… and more! For those who love opera, an evening within the ancient walls of the Arena di Verona is an unmissable experience. If you want to get there with no hassle, you can book a seat on the convenient shuttle service to and from the Arena, departing from all the towns on the lake, including Torri del Benaco.
